چکیده

Abstract Study Objectives Respiratory sleep indices are traditionally reported on the basis of average total time. The relationship between hour-to-hour variability these parameters and blood pressure (BP) has not been reported. Methods We evaluated associations apnea–hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen desaturation (ODI), lowest saturation with 24-hour ambulatory BP in patients hypertension newly diagnosed obstructive apnea. A 147 underwent polysomnography, based which apnea was 106 monitoring within next 30 days. Each polysomnogram divided into hourly reports to calculate respiratory indices. Variability independent mean considered primary measure variability. Results median number 7 (range, 4–8).The both AHI ODI, but saturation, correlated pulse pressure, systolic BP, awake (p < 0.05 for all). fully adjusted linear regression analysis indicated that ODI remained associated (AHI: β coefficient, 0.264 [95% CI, 0.033–0.495],p =0.026; ODI: 0.450 0.174 - -0.726],p = 0.002). Conclusions is independently pressure. Further investigations warranted evaluate clinical relevance this new-found association.

Association between blood pressure changes and obesity in over-18

Introduction: Overweight and obesity are risk factors for developing many diseases such as hypertension. Furthermore, obesity indicators such as abdominal height, waist circumference and hip circumference can independently and sometimes more severely lead to blood pressure changes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between blood pressure changes and anthropometric in...

The association of waist circumference with ambulatory blood pressure is independent of alternative adiposity indices.

AIM The relationship between waist circumference (WC) and conventional blood pressure (BP) is independent of other clinical indices of adiposity. As ambulatory BP may offer more prognostic information than conventional BP, we aimed to identify whether indices of central adiposity are associated with ambulatory BP independent of other indices of adiposity. METHODS The relationship between indi...

Indices of blood pressure variability and cardiovascular risk.

Letters to the Editor will be published, if suitable, as space permits. They should not exceed 1000 words (typed double-spaced) in length and may be subject to editing or abridgment. To the Editor: I read with interest the article by Hansen et al 1 evaluating the relation between blood pressure (BP) variability and risk. The prognostic value of BP variability, expressed as SD, was previously ev...

Ambulatory blood pressure and its variability in adults born preterm.

Adults born preterm have higher blood pressure (BP) than those born at term. Most studies have focused on preterm birth, and few have assessed BP variability, an independent risk factor of cardiovascular disease. We studied the association of preterm birth with 24-hour ambulatory BP, measured by an oscillometric device, in 42 young adults born early preterm (<34 weeks), 72 born late preterm (34...

Bias and variability in blood pressure measurement with ambulatory recorders.

This study sought to determine whether patient characteristics such as age, sex, blood pressure, and pulse pressure differently affect the accuracy of an oscillometric (SpaceLabs 90207) and a microphonic (TM2420 version 7) blood pressure monitor. Blood pressure recorded by two oscillometric and two microphonic ambulatory monitors was compared with simultaneous readings by two pairs of trained, ...
